Annual Golf Day
Our Annual golf day raised funds for the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital - Neonatal Intensive care Unit. Thank you to all those that braved the rain and joined us on the coursed. We are so very grateful for your support.
The Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPA) Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery & Obstetric Service were relocated in new, state-of-the-art facility in 2002. With around 5500 births annually, RPA Women & Babies is the busiest maternity service in NSW. The nursery is funded for 10 level 3 beds (Ventilation) and 24 level 2 beds (High-dependency and Special care). There are around 900 admissions annually, of which about 200 are level 3 and the remainder level 2. About 50 were born at other hospitals and were transferred to RPA by the NSW Newborn & Paediatric Emergency Transport Service (NETS). The mothers of about 200 of the in-born babies were booked at other hospitals, but transferred to RPA before the baby's birth, because of complications of pregnancy. On average we care for about 50 babies <1000gm and 140 babies <1500gm annually.
